Weight Training: Trap Bar Dead-Lift

This movement is the trap bar deadlift. When done properly this movement will train strength and stability in all the muscles of the posterior chain as well as the quadriceps. It is important when setting up for this movement to choose a foot placement that will allow the athlete to move the bar in a vertical direction and to maintain a flat back through the entire range of motion. This movement is a good replacement for athletes who have low back problems and can't properly execute a barbell.
