Weight Training: Quarter Squat

This movement is the quarter squat. When done properly this movement will train explosive power in the upper range of motion of hip extension. It is important when performing this move that the athlete never uses a load above their back squat max as the risk for injury to the back, hips, and knees will be increased. It is important that the athlete maintain a braced core in order to ensure receiving the bar properly in the eccentric portion of the movement.
