This movement is the barbell push press. When done properly this movement will train all the muscles of the shoulders, triceps, and upper chest, as well as the core as the athlete maintains posture in an upright position and the hips, as they are used to explosively move the bar in the vertical position. It is important that the athlete maintain full hip extension is the bar as it moves overhead and to absorb the bar in the right position as it returns to the athletes shoulders.
