Weight Training: Barbell Box Squat

This movement is the barbell box squat. The athlete should use a height for the box that allows their hips to break parallel with regard to their knees. The bar should be positioned along the upper traps maintaining a flat back and an engaged core through the entire range of motion. When sitting on the box it is important to maintain an engaged core so that the spine doesn't collapse when trying to move from the bottom position to the top.
