This is a hop phase into the sand triple jump drill. This drill can be done from any number of steps, but this particular video is using 6 total steps. It can start at 2 steps, then move back 4, 6, 8 steps, etc. This drill teaches the athlete to run through the triple jump take off, cycle the leg back through, and land on the take off leg. This drill is done into the sand because there can be multiple jumps without it being too tough on the athletes body.
