Sprint Acceleration Training: Ladder Drill From Block Start
This is an acceleration ladder drill from a block start. The point of putting the tape marks on the track is to give athletes a visual cue to drive to on each step. The first piece of tape is a foot-and-a-half beyond the starting line. Between the first and the second there is three and a half feet, than four feet, than five feet, then six feet and a final three tape marks are seven feet apart. It is important for athletes to focus on displacement and powerful drives on each step without cutting the next step short or over reaching.
