This 10 meter push-up start is part of the ground-based acceleration model. The athlete is lying flat on the ground, pushing up aggressively and as the athlete is pushing up, step forward with what would be the foot in the blocks. This position teaches to maintain a proper body lean and to drive the feet while getting up.
