Shot Put: Full Glide Throw
The full shot put throw using the glide technique shows a couple of important things to watch. Lowering of the rear end by sitting down and back driving straight across the circle. Once the athlete drives out of the back correctly, pull the right foot underneath in quality loaded power position in the middle of the ring. The athlete should work from the ground up with the feet knees and hips, while keeping the shoulders square to the back of the circle. After the athlete learns to drive the right leg, then work on pushing the hips through, and firing with the upper body.
