Pole Vault: One Step Wall Plant Drill

This is our one step wall plant drill using a pole vault crossbar. This drill is terrific for very beginner level pole vaulters to understand what it feels like to begin to bend the pole. The athlete is taking one step, pushing their left hand up and forward while extending the right hand above their head. As the athlete leans into the pole driving the knee, they can then also feel the sensation of the right arm going slightly behind their head. This is the beginning steps to learning the proper take off positions for the pole vault.
