Long Jump: Two Box Take-Off Drill

This launch up two box drill is used to teach athletes how to catch their hips on the rise and actively push through their penultimate step. This left footed long jumper is stepping onto the first box with their right leg and then pushing actively through that right side and having a quick take off step with the left leg. The box here is approximately 4 inches in height with the second box being approximately 8 inches in height. Using the jog up approach, these two boxes should be placed roughly three feet apart.
