Long Jump: Gallop Drill
This long jump gallop drill is the most specific plyometric that can be done in teaching the proper technique of the long jump take-off. This left footed jumper should focus on an active push through the right foot and a quick step of the left foot. A cue that is used, is the right to left hip exchange. The athlete is keeping their toes up and is rigid and solid at both ankle joints focusing on a quick push through the right and an active step down with the left.
