How to Throw Discus: South African Line Drill with Stick
This is a South African line drill with a stick on the shoulders, a drill used in discus. The stick on the athletes shoulders helps them to learn not to throw the left shoulder out of the back, instead using the hips to run down the line. Use the line for the athlete to notice where the feet should be when landing in front of the discus ring. The athletes right foot should be slightly further ahead, with a heel toe relationship with the right heel and the left toe being lined up accordingly.
