How to High Jump: Half Moon Drill

This is a half moon drill, a drill used in the high jump. A half circle with roughly a 12 foot radius (24 foot diameter) should be set up to start this drill. The athlete will start at the top of the circle to create pressure in the turn. This drill teaches the athlete to stay away from the bar during the jump. The athlete should keep the right shoulder as high as possible through the take off to allow for proper rotation around the bar.
