High Jump Technique: Back Over Bar Drill
This is a jog in back over drill, a drill used in the high jump. This drill can be done as a standing back over drill, but a jog in back over drill is preferred so the athlete can feel comfortable getting into the pit. The athlete should press their hips while going over the top of the bar, creating an inverted "C" position. To promote clearing the heels on the back side of the bar, the athlete will pull their chin forward and clear their heels.
