This is a full approach jump using an 8 step approach, a drill used in the high jump. The athlete should focus on three priorities in the following order. First, consistent quality rhythm in the approach with proper initiation of the curve. The approach is 90 percent of the jump. Second, focus on a quality take-off with proper foot placement to the back left corner of the pit and good knee drive through the take-off. Lastly, keep the knee up and develop quality rotation around the bar.
