Discus: How to Hold a Discus

This video teaches an athlete how to hold the discus properly. The athlete should locate the base of their thumb, place their index finger on middle of the discus sliding it up the discus resting the base of the thumb on the discus. At that point, the first two fingers will wrap over the edge of the discus at the first knuckle with the last two fingers slightly wrapping the discus. Make sure not to grip the discus to hard, rather relying on centripetal force to keep the discus in the proper hand placement throughout the discus throw.
