Discus: Full Throw
This is a full throw of the discus in the circle. The main focus of this drill is going to be on rhythm and posture. The athlete should have a good shift over their center of mass over the left foot out of the back, in a controlled motion. The athlete then works to the center of the circle turning the right foot, working from the ground up, turning the heel and knee, the hip, and then finally the arm creating a nice stretch reflex for velocity on the implement. In the full discus throw the most common challenge found is for athletes to learn to stay low and keep their knees bent throughout the move until they finish the discus throw.
