Developing a High Jump Approach: Full Approach to Curve Set Up Drill

This is a full approach to curve set up drill, a drill used in the high jump teaching an athlete how to develop an 8 step full approach high jump. Its easiest to start on a line, the athlete should run a 4 step straight line, and then transition into the curve. A mark should be placed at a consistent take off step. After a mark is developed, measure over to the line that the athlete started on creating the width of the approach. Then measure back to where the athlete started from, creating the 8 step approach that will be transferred over to the high jump apron.
