How to High Jump: Straight Line 6 Step Approach Drill

·1 min read

This is a straight line, 6 step rhythm approach used by beginning high jumpers. The athlete runs a straight line off of the high jump apron focused on having a consistent first two steps developing rhythm throughout the run, jumping on the 6th step. The athlete will do this multiple times marking their 6th step. Once there is a consistent mark, draw a straight line and measure from the athletes starting point.
