Hurdle Lead Leg Development: 5 Step Lead Leg Hurdle Drill

This a 5 step, lead leg hurdle drill, performed at a very easy pace. This is a drill that can be used for beginning level athletes to develop a comfort with the lead leg. The athlete is running 5 steps between each hurdle learning the proper movements. The athlete should focus on keeping a bent knee of the lead leg leading with knee and not the foot. The athlete should remain square as they are going down the track pushing the lead leg down as quickly as possible back onto the track on the backside of each hurdle.
