How to Throw Shot Put: Glide Front Box Drill

This shot put front drill teaches the athlete how to block properly with the left leg. The left leg up should be on an elevated box or a plate, something a couple inches in height. The additional height forces the athlete to drive off the right leg and then stand up and through the left leg. This increases the height of release of the implement.
