This is a 6 step swing and turn drill teaching pole vaulters the appropriate way to start their turn at the top of the vault. This drill enables athletes to learn how to swing through that left foot and as the body starts to connect with the pole, start to rotate around the pole. Notice the athlete here swinging as the body connects with the pole in the vertical position. The athlete then starts to turn and push keeping pressure on the right hand and landing on their stomach in the pit.
