How to High Jump: Short Approach Two Box Set Up
This is a short approach off of a two box set up, a drill used in the high jump. This drill is used to promote the athlete pushing through their penultimate actively and aggressively. The first box is 4 inches in height, while the second is 8 inches in height, with roughly 2-3 feet of distance in between. The athlete should focus on catching their hips on the rise, driving the knee aggressively as possible. In this drill, the athlete should leave the knee up to work on proper rotation over the top of the bar.
